Welcome to the site of California artist Eric Peltzer.
Working mostly in metal abstraction - stainless steel and bronze - he has sculptures in public and private
collections throughout the U.S. and in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, and Japan.
One is heavily influenced by the rich tradition of classical sculpture with its focus on realism. But rather than simply mimic this style I have worked to blend classical and contemporary elements to create a voice of my own.
The other direction my work has taken reflects my passion for abstract expressionism and minimalism. In these works I have refined the human figure to basic geometric forms. With simple lines and planes I work to capture the essence of movement and gesture.
